Committee Chairpersons

We have TEN Committees. Not all are staffed. We always need volunteers to assist the organization and make it operate smoothly. Our Committee Chairpersons run the meetings for each committee, keep track of the projects for that committee and fill out semi-annual reports to keep the President and the Board of Directors appraised of the continued progress. Each member of these committees commits to monthly meetings, commits to assist with projects for their committee, and makes a difference to the entire organization. Committees are also the pool of members the Board of Directors look to when elections come around annually for NEW Directors.

Games Volunteers

Our Games Volunteers organize, host, and assist at Festivals and Highland Games all over the United States AND Canada. We have our Tanist who leads the entire team of volunteers. Second in line are our Regional Commissioners. Third in line are our State and Provincial Representatives. Fourth in line are the local assistants (clan tent hosts) who help staff our tents so that our reps are not left to do an event alone. All positions are important. Each has a different set of requirements and level of responsibilities. All are crucial to CMSNA.

President

Misha Lowther of Oklahoma USA
[email protected]

Misha Lowther is the current President. Her term began July 1st, 2023 and ends June 30th, 2026. Delegation and leadership is where it begins with the role of president, but not where it ends. Each president has a goal and wears many hats in order to assist CMSNA in moving forward into the future. Each person who steps into this role does it differently and to the best of their ability with improvements and growth at the forefront of the mission over the three years of their term. Each one is proud to serve Clan MacDougall and its current Chief of MacDougall and Dunollie as well as Clan MacDowall and its current Chief as these two clans have been intertwined through the ages.

Treasurer

Dana M. Chandler of New Jersey USA
[email protected]

Our Treasurer chairs the Budget Committee as well as tracks our budget throughout the year, tracks spending, savings and operations for each group and committee, and donations to our heritage sites, scholarships, and so much more. It takes a lot of patience, endurance, organization, and committment to keep this area running smoothly. We appreciate having Dana on our team.
Each officer (besides the President and Tanist) serve a two year term. Dana came aboard the Executive team in 2023. We are very fortunate at CMSNA. He is a valued member.

Vallerie McDougall-Tilley of London, Ontario, Canada
[email protected]

VP of Membership

Our current VP of Membership is Valerie McDougall-Tilley. She chairs the Membership Committee as well as tracks our new members throughout the year, tracks anything membership related, and takes care of member operations for the Society. It takes a lot of patience, endurance, organization, and commitment to keep this area running smoothly especially when your team is short-staffed. We appreciate having Valerie on our team since 2017.
Each officer (besides the President and Tanist) serve a two year term. We are very fortunate at CMSNA to have dedicated and committed volunteers. Each one is a valued member who brings something important to the team.

Anne MacDougall Carine of Massachusetts USA
[email protected]

Tanist

Anne MacDougall Carine is our Tanist. She takes the office of President on July 1st, 2026. As Tanist, she is the top tiered leader of our Games Volunteers. She coordinates with our Regional Commissioners with regards to what is happening in their local regions, who their state representatives are and no longer are; collects write-ups regarding the Games each regional commissioner and state representative attends so you get to read about it in “The Raven“. As Tanist, she also assists with any duties the President needs assistance with.

Secretary

T’Shael Jones of Minnesota USA
[email protected]

T’Shael Jones joined our Executive team as Secretary on July 1st, 2025. Her term of office will last two years and then she will be up for re-election in April of 2027 when the term begins again for whomever is elected. T’Shael has bee a very enthusiastic leader~very motivated and excited to do her best and step up in every way possible. It’s inspiring and admirable. CMSNA is indeed fortunate to have her.
The Secretary is the organizer of all meetings, schedules, and documentation for the Society. Records of minutes and the decisions made within each meeting fall to the secretary to track and record. Details and organization are paramount.

VP of Canada

Scott MacDougald of London, Ontario, Canada

Scott MacDougald has served as the VP of Canada for a very long time. I dare say he holds the record for term of office. You’ll find Scott at each heritage committee which he currently chairs, at at least three of the Games held in Canada, and doing research for the Tartan and his other writing adventures for Clan MacDougall and Clan MacDowall.
The VP of Canada is the “organizer of all meetings “foreign” diplomat for CMSNA as there is a border to cross from the US to Canada. Scott is very knowledgeable in things MacDougall and MacDowall as are many of our long-term members who enjoy serving CMSNA as a nonprofit. We are very fortunate to have such members on our team that believe in and share our mission and purposes.
